Wasn’t the “memorial” (re-enactment) of the Titanic voyage always a bit weird? You’re re-enacting a bloody tragedy, people. You’re just lucky you’ve been only delayed a bit by bad weather and someone seriously ill has been airlifted off the goddamn pretend-Titanic boat thing.
Bad things come in threes, as my mother always said. I do actually hope it’s not as bad as the voyage you are recreating with your costumes and shit.
As a postscript, I once shared a flat at uni with another Lit student and two science students (one of whom was a member of Mensa). As the Lit chick and I were talking about the movie Titanic and about to put it in the VCR (those were the days), the Mensa girl yelled out “don’t spoil the ending!”. So stick that in your pipe, science. Lit grads are all better at pub quizzes and can boil a frickin egg, at least.
